informs Harrod on the development of the parliamentary debates. He
sends the Hansard with the report on the questions put on 30
March. [1] The redrafted
Question 6 will be replied on 6 April.

- 1. In his
reply to the Questions put by Craven-Ellis (see letter
558 Z), the Chancellor of the Exchequer explained that the
relative shortage of Treasury Bills in the last few months was due
to seasonal causes and to the substantial reduction in gold
holding in the previous year, but in view of the large borrowing
programme anticipated, the total amount of Bills was expected to
increase rather than to diminish further (Official Reports, Fifth
Series. Parliamentary Debates. Commons, vol. 345, pp. 2220-2221.

found among Harrod's papers.
