Molson (1903-91, Baron of High Peak, created 1961) was educated at the Royal Naval Colleges of Osborne and Dartmouth and New College, Oxford; he was president of the Oxford Union (1925). Called to the Bar at the Inner Temple (1931), he was a Unionist Member of Parliament (1931-35 and 1939-61), parliamentary secretary of the Ministry of Works (1951-53) and of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation (1953-57), and Minister of Works (1957-59).
