Feiling returns
Harrod's scheme for the lectures on money, which he finds excellently
drawn. [1]
- 1. Harrod
taught on "Money" during Michaelmas term 1923. Harrod may have
been inspired by Keynes's lectures on Money which he attended
during his Cambridge stay: see Harrod, Life of John Maynard
Keynes, 1951, pp. 325-327. The course on money is the first set of
Harrod's lectures advertised in the Oxford University Gazette.
However, in HP V-103 there are notes marked "Lectures on Pol.
Science when first at Ch. Ch."; the questions Harrod addressed
were: "1. What is the right of the individual vis-a-vis the state?
2. What is the best form of govt.?" As these lectures were never
advertised in the University Gazette, they may have been delivered
immediately on Harrod's return from Berlin, that is, during
Trinity term 1923.
