My dear Roy,

You deserve immense congratulation. I was teasing my brains to know who wrote it and why the Times printed it in the full glory of anonymity. [1] You answer me the first problem. And I suppose that the answer to the second is really that the tide is reversing--I have smelt it in the air in the last two or three weeks--and these things are on the brink of becoming respectable. Anyway it is a most excellent article, and a great triumph to have got it in.
