Birgit Hagen has a PhD from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration with a specialization in International Marketing/International Finance.
She held various marketing positions in Austria, worked in international and strategic marketing in France and was Business Unit Manager in Italy for a multinational enterprise.
She joined the University of Pavia in 2005 and completed her doctoral studies in 2009 in the Department of Business Studies, Faculty of Economics where she now holds a research position. She collaborates in various national and international research projects on Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise (SME) Internationalisation and the COBEREN (Consumer Behaviour Research Network) project of the EU.
Her areas of research are: SME Internationalisation, Strategic Orientation, International Marketing, International Entrepreneurship.
