Curriculum vitae

Robert Castley graduated in economics at the University of Exeter, UK (1971) and went on to take an MPhil (in development economics) at the University of Leeds UK.
He has undertaken numerous consultancies for international agencies (World Bank, ILO) and the EU in 34 developing countries in Africa, the Caribbean, India, South and SE Asia and the Pacific, in the following fields, project design and evaluation, education and the labour market

He has also taught Development Economics (with special reference to East Asia) and Human Resources Development (in developing countries) at Masters level at the University of Manchester (1984-97).

Research interests

Economic development in a regional context (regional and global influences on national development policies).
