223R. G. D. H. Cole to Harrod, [27 November 1931] [a]

Cole asks if Harrod is to be considered as Labour, and if so invites him to an informal lunch to discuss Labour views. [1]

  1. 1. From Cole's next letter it would seem that Harrod accepted to meet him without, however, engaging himself to be considered as Labour: Cole, in fact, commented that they wanted "fresh thinking, not orthodoxy" (letter to Harrod, postmarked 30 November 1931, in HPBL Add. 71190/194).
    1. a. From 7 Parsifal Road, Hampstead, N.W.6 # , ALS, one page, with envelope addressed to Christ Church, in HPBL Add. 71190/192-93. Date read from postmark.
