Trinity [College, Cambridge]

20 May [1926]

Dear Roy,

I have just got back from a dash to Götterdämmerung [b]   [1] and opened your 2 letters,--no more. I can see they will take a deal of thought, so don't expect a proper answer for some time. But meanwhile let me thank you for spending time on the book: there aren't more than a dozen people from whom one can hope for any serious criticism of it, and I am grateful to have yours even if, as I have a terrible foreboding, you have successfully convicted me of serious error!

These last weeks have been utter agony of spirit. I won't begin to comment.

Many thanks: I'll write in due course.

Dennis Robertson.
