Ohlin, Bertil

Ohlin (1899-1979) was educated at the Universitiy of Lund, at the Stockholm School of Economics and Business Administration, at Cambridge (for a short time) and Harvard. He taught in Copenhagen (1925-30), then returned to Stockholm to succeed his former teacher Eli Heckscher (1930-65). He was a member of the Swedish Parliament (1938-70) and a leader of the Liberal Party (1944-67). His Interregional and International Trade (Oxford University Press and Harvard University Press, 1933) won him the Novel Prize in 1977 (jointly with Meade ).
