Edgeworth (1845-1926) was educated at Trinity College, Dublin, and Balliol College, Oxford. He was lecturer on logic, then Tooke professor of political economy at King's College London, to 1891. Afterwards he was professor of political economy, University of Oxford (1891-1922), fellow of All Souls College, Oxford, and editor of the Economic Journal (1891-1926). Edgeworth's last lectures were described by Harrod in an article on the teaching of economics at Oxford University and in letters 81 R and 106 .
