Dallas, George

Dallas (1878-1961), educated at the London School of Economics, was the general secretary of the Independent Labour Party, Scotland (to 1912), organizer of the Workers' Union in London and Home Counties (from 1912), chairperson of the National Labour Party committee on agricultural and rural problems, and member of several agriculture commissions, boards and councils. He was Labour Member of Parliament (1929-31), and justice of the peace in Northamptonshire (1938).
