818. John Simon to Harrod , 24 August 1938 [a]

Treasury Chambers, Whitehall, S.W. #

24 August 1938

Dear Mr. Harrod,

I ought to have acknowledged your kind letter before this. I had already been reading your article in the Times and, indeed, had also got a reprint for further study. [1] But I am grateful for the further copy you have sent me. I will not make any comments just now but would assure you that what you say is by no means overlooked. Indeed, your contribution is one of a large number which is being made the subject of a great deal of consideration. [2]

I hope you have been having a very successful time in the Presidential Chair at the B.A.

With kind regards,

Yours very sincerely,

John Simon
