809R. Harrod to J. Mulgan, 16 August 1938 [a]

Follows on from 792 R. Harrod has reminded Marschak about his paper. [1] He mentions his letter to Sisam proposing a volume of collected essays, and comments: "There are by now I think a sufficient number of articles of authority, frequently cited etc., to make up a decent volume." [2]

  1. 1. Harrod asked Marschak to bring to Cambridge (where the annual meeting of the British Association was taking place: Harrod was the president of Section F, Marschak was to read a paper: see letter 742 R) the typescript of H. Makower, J. Marschak, and H. W. Robinson, "Studies in Mobility of Labour: A Tentative Statistical Measure", to be printed in Oxford Economic Papers 1, October 1938 (letter to Marschak of 16 August 1938, in JMP 1275, Box 147, folder H).

    2. Refers to letter 807 . Sisam was absent, and Mulgan deferred the discussion of Harrod's proposal until Sisam's return (Mulgan to Harrod, 16 August 1938, in OUP DPB 4588). The correspondence was resumed in September with Sisam, and taken up again with Mulgan in november (letters 841 R and 872 R).
