749R. J. M. Keynes to Harrod, 22 January 1938 [a]

Answered by 751 R. Keynes likes Harrod's "idea of trying to make the Cambridge meeting of the British Ass. a useful and well-attended occasion", and will try to attend and read a paper, on "something like `The problem of Gold and Hot Money'". [1] He explains that if Harrod were prepared to supply the text of his presidential utterance in July, it could go in the September issue of the Economic Journal.

  1. 1. Harrod invited Keynes to read a paper at the meeting of the British Association on 20 January (in JMK, EJ/1/5/31-32). Keynes eventually wrote a paper on "The Policy of Government Storage of Foodstuffs and Raw Materials" (1938) for the occasion.
