Dear Harrod,

I've read your book to the end of the 2 nd chapter pretty closely. [1] But I find it stiff reading; & I must break off now to concentrate on Fellowship dissertation; I don't know when I'll be able to get back to it.

So I think it best to send you now the remaining notes I've made on the first two chapters. I'm afraid you may find it difficult to read them.

By the way, how much or little do you want the typescript returned at an early date?

Yours ever,

H.D.H.
