492R. Winston Churchill to Harrod, 5 November 1935 [a] , [1]

Replies to 491 R, answered by 493 R. Churchill thinks that "the harm done by the Oxford Resolution has spread far through the world". He thinks that there exists no real antagonism between those who are "ready to defend the Empire" and those who would "defend the Covenant of the League of Nations". He is also against handing the Colonies over to the League of Nations, and he is not therefore prepared to go very far upon the path Harrod had traced for him.
