Hammond asks for
Harrod's permission to quote, in the life of C. P. Scott which he is
writing, a passage from a letter Scott wrote to Harrod in June 1926
(see 116 R), regarding
Harrod's joining the staff of the Manchester Guardian.

& Sons, 1934. Harrod warranted permission to publish, and
described his meeting with Scott. Hammond wrote again on 4
December, asking for permission to include Harrod's description in
his book (in HPBL Add. 71191/98). This was eventually quoted on p.
347.
