321R. F. W. Taussig to Harrod, 17 October 1933 [a]

Taussig invites Harrod to contribute to the Quarterly Journal of Economics "a review, or review-article, on the recent literature on the theory of imperfect competition", with particular reference to Joan Robinson's and Edward Chamberlin's books and the literature in periodicals. [1]

  1. 1. Harrod accepted (Taussig to Harrod, 31 October 1933, in HP IV-1183-1189), the result being "Doctrines of Imperfect Competition" ( 1934:3 ). References are to J. V. Robinson, The Economics of Imperfect Competition (1933) and E. Chamberlin, The Theory of Monopolistic Competition (1933). Taussig wrote again on 8 and 23 November (both in HP IV-1183-1189), concerning arrangements regarding the article. He acknowledged receipt of Harrod's piece on 9 January 1934 (letter 340 R).
