Thank you for your letter of the 28th August.
I am sorry to hear of your trouble, and very glad it has been taken away. Wonderful as modern surgery is, don't take it too lightly - I mean, you and I are getting older (though you are not as old as I am), and we have got to accept our limitations. I find it very hard. The only effect worry has on me is that I don't put on weight, and that is very fortunate!
We are all very flourishing, and much and happily cumbered with grandchildren (5).
