54. H. F. Scott-Stokes to Harrod, 28 Feb '51
My wife's cousin, Bancroft Clark (late of King's) has been asked to agree to W.K.HANCOCK as a suitable person to be approached, to write a life of his father-in-law. Gen. SMUTS. He asks, through me, whether you know the man (as you must) & recommend him, both as to capacity & style; or know of any reason not to ask him?
If you can & care to advise, he will be very grateful. Envelope enclosed.
We are well. Much marrying of daughters; & total .... about wool-prices? Our son goes to Winchester in May. [? CSS] I've not yet read yr. `Keynes'. Much looking forward to it.
